Minnesota National Bank has been organized from the merger of First National Bank of Sauk Centre and Lake Country State Bank. First National Bank's charter is being carried on and dates back to November 1902. It was then known as the Merchant’s National Bank of Sauk Centre. The Merchant’s National Bank became affiliated with First Bank Stock Corporation, (then known as First Bank System Inc.,) on December 14, 1929. The name of the bank was changed to "First National Bank" on August 8, 1950. In 1987 First Bank Sauk Centre was sold to a group of local owners. First National Bank then became an independent bank and once again began using the name of First National Bank of Sauk Centre. On March 24, 2008, Minnesota National Bank retained the tradition of being a community bank with expanded offices in Sauk Centre, Long Prairie and Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.

Minnesota National Bank is proud to be a community bank and has a strong desire to maintain its locally owned, independent advantage. The values held determine how we pursue and achieve our goals. Among the values shared by owners, managers, and staff are honesty, integrity, and a caring attitude towards all people regardless of race, creed, financial status, gender, marital status, or age.
